Castillo natural
Don Jose Elmer, nicknamed Cecilio, and Doña Luz Mar started with 0.5 hectare 30 years ago and now run a 6-hectare farm planted with colombia, cenicafé, castillo and pink bourbon. All those coffee trees are surrounded or shaded by a beautiful diversity of trees, plants and flowers, making of this farm one of the most biodiverse we’ve seen so far !
After many years of selling high volumes to the commercial market, they decided in 2025 to experiment with a natural process for their Castillo, despite not having a buyer lined up. This entrepreneurial move was driven by their desire to enter the specialty market and diversify their offering. The Minga team soon heard about their efforts and now provides a market for all of their naturals each season.
