Tabi Washed | Chiroso Washed | Cenicafé Natural
After fleeing armed conflict in Caquetá, Fernando and Alejandra settled in El Pital, Huila, in 2004. They began farming with beans and peaches before adding coffee.
Shaped by his experience of displacement, Fernando became a community activist and discovered the value of crop diversification. Today, they apply this approach to build a resilient farming business, balancing risk while creating greater stability for the family.
Driven by curiosity and a willingness to experiment, Fernando and Alejandra have gone beyond the region’s more common Cenicafé variety to cultivate distinctive varieties such as Chiroso, Tabi, and Bourbon Manzano.
